The encapsulated modules use a unique thermoselective vacuum encapsulation process based on MTM’s years of experience in this field. The encapsulation offers total resistance to dust and moisture, cuts down on size and dissipates heat evenly thus avoiding hot spots. The potting improves shock and vibration absorption, has a wide temperature tolerance and is extremely durable.

Resistant to dust and humidity the IP67 range of AC/DC converters consist of 50W, 75W & 100W converters with IP67 connectors enabling them to be used in the open without the need for costly cabinets. The standard high reliability range of AC/DC converters cover the range 5W to 100W mostly with through hole, and chassis mount options.  There are choices to be made from singles, duals and triple outputs.

Because of the vacuum encapsulation and high quality build, several of the AC/DC converters are qualified for medical use with a range of 15W to100W, all with single outputs. These models fulfill medical equipment standards and are certified according to EN 60 601 / UL 60 601 / EN 60 950 / UL 60 950.

For transport applications MTM has designed DC/DC converters with high voltage inputs to work with systems including 110V rails these comply with EN50155 safety requirements. To comply with UK standards MTM has designed and built an RIA12 spikes and surges active suppressor module which when used in front of the converter protects the system from the vagaries of this railway system.

An unusual, but very useful range of DC/DC converters, accept inputs from 400V-900V high voltage rails and cover 300W to 1,000W applications enabling battery charging and starting for discharged batteries on trams and trolley buses. They can also be used for powering remote points, lights and barriers from the overhead wires.
