Product Change & Discontinuation Notices

May 2012

Kemet have taken the decision to discontinue the Evox Rifa Metallised Polyester MMC series as of May 2012. The Kemet F161 series is the recommended replacement which is expected to be released in June 2012. The main difference is the construction of the device - the MMC was a wound device and the F161 will be a stacked construction. For some applications there may already be an alternative available in the Kemet DE series. This is also of stacked construction and is typically smaller than the original MMC.

Kemet have announced an expansion to their production facility in Evora, Portugal to offer additional production capacity for their ALC series of snap-in electrolytic capacitors, and the ALS and PEH series of screw terminal electrolytics. Read the Customer Change Notification HERE

MTM have reiterated that their HSA120 & HSA240 DIN Rail Power Supplies and P(C)Mmed series of Medical Grade Power Supplies are obsolete as of the 1st January 2012. They have also announced that certain models within the P(C)MD range of DC/DC converters, SMM Cassette style Power Supplies and WRC 19" Rack mount Power Supplies are on end of life notices, and not recommended for new designs. Ericsson Power Modules have issued a Product Discontinuation Notice and issued a Last Time Buy notification for the "F" variants of the PMF and PMG Point of Load Converters. The "F" variants are designed for DDR/QDR memory applications where sinking of current as well as sourcing current is needed. Please note this does not affect the standard PMF or PMG families. Ericsson Power Modules have issued a Product Discontinuation Notice and issued a Last Time Buy notification on the Master & Slave versions of the BMR453 series. Ericsson are releasing the BMR453 with Droop Load Sharing for parallel operation, which negates the need for Master/Slave operation and allows direct paralleling with no additional connections needed.
