I'm going on a short backpacking camping trip next week for 5 days just west of Denver. This will be my first backpacking trip and the only sleeping bag I have is a large, down bag that weighs a ton, so I'm in the market for a better one.
I'm male, 6'1", wide-shouldered, average build. Where we're headed is at 11,000ft and the low temps at night get to about 40 degrees which I think means I'm aiming for a 30-35 degree bag. I sleep hot in bed at home, often exposing my legs or feet from under the covers. I was looking at the following bags and decided on the Marmot Quark 30. There aren't many reviews out there on the bag, so I was wondering could someone more experienced could please look at the bag and tell me if there are any warning flags with the bag? It sits in the perfect place in my budget and the weight and size of the bag seem perfect for backpacking.
- $270 Marmot Quark 30
Here are the other bags I was comparing to:
- $169 Kelty Cosmic 20
- $179 North Face Furnace 35
- $279 REI Igneo 25
- $350 Marmot Hydrogen 25
- $370 Marmot Phase 20
- $419 Marmot Phase 30
Thanks for reading and for your advice!
